What Data We Collect

Children's Data

Data Sources
Media Files

If you upload images or other forms of media to our website, you should first strip any personal or location information contained in its EXIF meta file. The EXIF data may include names, dates, keywords, coordinates, or other technical data. Although we do not extract your personal information from media, except as necessary to maintain the safety and integrity of our website, other visitors may be able to download and access this publicly shared data.

Comments & Reviews

We employ software which allows you to leave reviews of our products, and to post messages on our blog.  We collect the data you submit via these forms, to facilitate communication between you and other visitors.

We also capture your IP address and browser user agent string, to assist with identifying spam.

By using these services, you are granting us the non-exclusive and royalty-free rights to adapt, modify, translate, and create derivative works of the information which you share publicly on our website. This means that you agree to let us reuse, display and publish your comments and reviews in various forms of media, without compensation.

Contact Forms

We provide various forms which allows you to contact us. These forms collect your name, email address, phone number, and other information which you may choose to disclose. We use this data for customer service purposes.

Your IP address and browser user agent information, is also automatically collected. We use this data to detect spam, prevent fraud, troubleshoot website or server configuration issues, and to ensure that our website remains compatible with most devices.

This data will be stored until your form submission has been deleted from our system.

Browser Cookies

When you visit our log-in page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser is configured to accept cookies. This cookie contains no personal information, and will expire after you close your browser.

Editing or publishing an article on our website, requires a browser cookie to indicate the post ID of the article you created or edited. The cookie contains no personal information, and will be discarded after 24 hours.

If you leave a comment on our website, a browser cookie will be used to store your name and email address. We do this as a convenience, as it allows you to leave additional comments without having to log-in or fill out your details again. This cookie will last for one year.

Manually logging into your account, will establish two cookies. The first is used to store your log-in information, and is retained for two days (unless you choose “Remember Me”, then it will last for two weeks). The second cookie stores your screen options, and will persist for one year. Should you log out of your account, these cookies will be discarded.

A cookie is required for every social provider that is used to automatically create, log-in, or link to your online account with us. This is necessary to secure communications, authenticate your credentials, and to redirect you back to us. These cookies will be removed if you delete your account on our website.

Embedded Content

Embedded content from sources other than our server such as images, articles, and videos, will behave as if you were visiting the other website. We do not currently embed content ourselves, but other visitors may upload such content on our blog or through other public areas on our website. This means that there is a chance that other websites may collect information about you, set cookies in your browser, and monitor your activity or track your interaction with this embedded content, especially if you have an account and are logged into that site.

Spam Detection

If you leave a comment or review on our website, we will pass your email address, IP address, and comments through an automated spam detection service.

Automated Profiling

We may use your purchasing habits, wishlist, or browsing history on our website, to compile an advertising profile. This is an automated action, which allows us to better understand your interests, provides insight into market trends, and helps us to give you a more personalized experience for you.

Website Analytics

We use analytics provided by Google, to monitor how our visitors interact with our website.  This means that we use identifiers for mobile devices, which helps us to provide a better experience for our visitors, to plan and gauge the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and to ensure the integrity of our website security.

Your Data
Who We Share With

We do not currently rent, lease, or sell your data to third-parties. We do however share a limited amount of personal data with the following companies as described: We accept payments through Stripe, which means that your name, billing address, credit or debit card number, and purchase total will be passed to this third-party. The sharing of this information is necessary to process and support your payment transaction.

Data From Third Parties

We automatically collect your name, email address, and an access token, when you register, log-in, or link your account on our website with any of the enabled social providers. This is necessary to create your account or to verify your log-in credentials when you authorize us to do so. This information is stored on our site, and is not shared with anyone. This data can be removed by deleting your online account with us.

How Long We Keep Data

Unless specifically noted elsewhere in this privacy policy, all collected data is retained indefinitely.

How Data is Protected

We utilize encryption to protect your data, and employ SSL technology to transmit your data. Additionally, our staff has been trained to handle personal data, and our company has completed a Privacy Impact Assessment.

Data Breach Procedures

In the event of a data breach, an internal incident report will be created and investigated. If it has been determined that your personal information may have been compromised, we will notify you in writing. This notification will include what information may have been affected, and what corrective actions we took.

Your Data Rights

If you have left comments on or have an account on our website, you have the option of requesting a list of the personal data that we hold about you. You may request in writing, that we remove all or some of your personal data, except in cases where we are obligated to keep this data for administrative, legal or security purposes.

We may occasionally modify or update our privacy policy, and the most current version (with effective date) is always available on this page.  All changes become effective immediately after posting, so we encourage you to periodically review this policy for any changes that may affect you.
